some years ago i got the idea to try and photograph every preserved br steam diesel and electric loco , im slowly getting there and with that in mind it was off to peak rail today for there newly restored 8f after a mammoth 28 year overhaul

on what must have been one of the hottest days of the year
i thought id go on friday thinking it would be quiter but every train seemed packed - bewdley car park was full by 10.00am it seems the credit crisis hasnt spread this far yet

i recently bought a book called preserved locomotives of british railways
whilst looking at the locations of locos i came across gwr 2-8-0 3845 as being at rye farm wishaw near sutton coldfield
as this is only a couple of miles from me i went to investigate and found not only the 2-8-0 but this lot as well
i couldnt beleive it as i travel past there regularly quite a find
ps
if anyone fancys having a look please ask when you get there the guy i spoke to didnt seem to mind but it is a private site

visit to the midland railway centre
a great line up of locos steam and diesel - a spitfire - the red arrows and sun what more do you need thanks for a cracking day out

called in at loughborough on the way back from barrow hill to see if i could get a shot of tornado
and what a beast it is cant wait to see it painted up properley

for me one of the highlights of the year is barrow hills annual do a great day out at a really friendly place

i didnt take that many photos at the time as i was to busy shed bashing and taking numbers
anyway we couldnt afford a camera these were all taken with cameras my dad borrowed from workmates
